23 Things Post

I attended the 2007 Internet Librarian Conference in Monterey, California. At the conference, Helene Blowers and Meredith Farkas presented on learning and training in the world of blogs, wikis, and web 2.0. I have gradually begun to wade through some of my notes from the conference and play with some of the toys that were presented by Blowers and Farkas. I have started Farkas and co.'s 5 Weeks To A Social Library and Blowers' 23 Things. This post fulfills one of the 23 Things which was to create a blog and post.

I am only 32 and cut my library teeth when Google was in its infancy so I am not immune to the web and its possibilities. Still, I found myself wary of new technology and nervous that I was missing something. I have had blogs before but none related to my job as a reference librarian at a private university. So I created this blog and am moving full force into the 21st Century. Thank you to Blowers and Farkas for showing the ease in which new learning can be done and for providing such a simple framework for accomplishing needed library learning.
